Has extensive experience in Socioeconomic studies of forest based livlihood. She obtained PhD with Ford Foundation Doctoral Fellowship with a specialisation on the socioeconomic and forest depended livelihoods of tribal communities. She has several scholarly publications in environmental economics and protected area management. Current research interests are in environmental valuation, policy studies in the context of forest rights of indigenous people and socioeconomic studies of traditonal industry.

  • Economic impact of invasive alien species.
  • Sustainable management of Non Timber Forests Products - socioeconomics and markets.

  • Integrating cultural and biological diversity into conservation initiatives

  • Medicinal plants markets in south India - economic value and tribal rights (National Medicinal Plants Board, Ministry of AYUSH, GOI).
  • Economic valuation of ecosystem services from the moist deciduous forests (Kerala Forest Development Fund, Govt. of Kerala).
  • Wood balance study of Kerala (Govt. of Kerala).
